

Don was born and raised in Spokane with sister Dixie. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1948 and was employed by Pacific Northwest Bell for 35 years. Other activities he enjoyed were: coaching baseball, Boy Scout leader, helping at church functions, camping, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, and golf. After his retirement in 1983, he enjoyed many years relaxing at their cabin on Pend Oreille River and traveling in their motor home with friends. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laura Lee and 5 children, Debbie Hoglan (John Turner), Terri DeGon (Doug), Lori Birrell (Doug), Donald M. Potts, and Wendy Martin. He is Grandpa to 20 grandchildren, Kelly, Korry, Kenny, and Christy Hoglan, Michelle Gessner, P.J. Dennis, Joshua and Matthew Brown, Scott, Daniel, and Jennifer DeGon, Simon, Jamison and Carlin Birrell, Taylor, Kasey, and Colby Potts, and Calli, Jared, and Trevor Martin. He is also Great Grandpa to 15 great grand children. Don was preceded in death by his sister Dixie Edwards. A celebration of Don's life will be held on Friday September 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church 503 North Walnut Road, Spokane Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Vianney in memory of Don Potts.
