Elaine Marie Stahley Hendrick Thorne passed away on Monday, 18 June 2018 in Hospice of Spokane. Elaine is survived by her husband Ray, daughter Michelle, son Kevin, grandson Keno and brother Paul Dennis. Elaine was born in Allentown, PA to Paul and Grace Stahley. Elaine had Bachelor’s degrees in biology and geography and a Master’s degree in Special Education. Elaine worked many jobs including as an enlisted soldier and Signal Corps officer in the U.S. Army, as a teacher in the Department of Defense Schools and as a substitute in Spokane’s District 81. Elaine loved swimming, bicycling, and walking with her friends. Elaine’s many volunteer activities included being Comstock Neighborhood Council Chair and with the Spokane Bicycle Club. An informal memorial service will be held in Coeur d’Alene on June 26.
