Age 88
Betty was born in Spokane Washington to Olaf and Elizabeth (Ulstrom) Nelson, January 20, 1927 and passed away, January 19, 2016 in Spokane. Betty worked at radio station KCFA which later became KMBI here in Spokane and has requested that memorials contributions be made to KMBI c/o Moody Radio Northwest 5408 S. Freya St. Spokane, WA 99223. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Harold) Voltz of Spokane, WA; two granddaughters, Heidi (Jon) Spotts and Heather (Doug) Blackburn both of Spokane, WA; five great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Malia and Silas Spotts, and Bayley and Sawyer Blackburn; two nieces and four nephews and their families. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Alger in 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday January 31, 2016 at the First Free Methodist Church, 1725 W. Courtland Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. Her final resting place is Fairmount Memorial Park.
