Evelyn L. Eldredge received her promotion to heaven on May 30, 2015. She was born in Pomeroy Washington on February 18, 1920 and was the oldest of five children of Red and Bonita Light. Evelyn was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother who always put the needs of her family before her own. Evelyn married Howard Eldredge and together they enjoyed over 50 years of life making memories. Evelyn and Howard loved to dance, travel, go on cruises, camping, and entertaining friends and family. Evelyn was a beautiful, sweet woman inside and out. She loved good food, strong drinks and rich desserts. Evelyn looked forward to visits with family and friends. Evelyn was quite the hostess and always had a box of SEE’s candy on hand to share. She was so proud of her grandchildren and she cherished the time spent with them. Her sense of humor was amazing and she shared many stories that filled the room with laughter. She lived at The Academy from 1991-2014, where she became the longest residing resident.
At age 95, she became tired, she was missing Howard, her parents, and her 4 siblings. She was ready for God to take her home to be reunited with her loved ones who passed before her.
Evelyn is survived by her son Dennis Eldredge (Midge), grandson Jason Eldredge, grand daughter, Samantha Eldredge, and two special nieces Janet and Pam.
A grave side service will be held on Monday June 8th at 3:00 at Fairmont Cemetery.
Evelyn was an amazing woman who was loved by many and will forever be in our hearts. The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane and A Nurses Touch Adult Family Home staff for the wonderful care with dignity that allowed Evelyn her peaceful transition to heaven.
