Gerald Maurice Curran passed on June 16, 2026, at the age of 79, having been born on December 21, 1946, at the hospital that was at Fort George Wright in Spokane, Washington. He was last residing in Moses Lake, Washington, with his wife Linda. He served in the United States Navy.
Ode to my husband Gerald Maurice Curran aka Beavers:
My Beavers was a wonderful, faithful husband, stood by me through all storms and during joyous times. I am glad I could show him love, when he had spent so many years struggling alone through life. He had a kind, giving heart. He was a Jesus' healer on earth, fulfilling scripture, those who believe in Jesus shall lay hands on the sick, they shall be made well. Beavers always gave credit to Jesus for all healing received.
He suffered with pain greatly since an accident at work in 1989. Beavers accomplished much. He was a wordworker, refinishing, rebuilding antique furniture.
Beavers helped the Louie family of the Colvilles, in the early days, develop the Eagle Spirit Campground, Colville Nation land near Inchelium, WA. Tom Louie was his elder mentor for over 20 years. Beavers learned to make hand drums, he has made many hundreds of unique jewelry.
We started our 18 years of marriage, met at the annual Eagle Spirit campground, married 2 months later. The first years we attended powwows together. Beavers helped me construct my regalia to wear as I learned to dance at powwow. Beavers was a pipe carrier for a west side tribe. As Beavers (his name given to him at the camp) or as Gerald or Jerry, he was a well known person to person from Iowa(his ancestry area) to Texas, throughout WA. People were drawn to him.
Since February of this year he had spent time in 3 hospitals in WA State. Stroke, Heart attacks, finally the hardest to fight, cirrhosis of his liver, with consistent fluid dangerously building up and large hernia filling that fluid.
Before we met, Beavers/Gerald had met our awesome Lord Jesus during a revival in a little church in Oregon. From then on, Beavers walked closely with Our Lord. Our Lord walked with us both through storms and blessing times.
Our new hospital, Samaritan, here in Moses Lake, WA was above and beyond in kindness, professionalism. Beavers entered Samaritan on June 10th, while struggling to breathe. After tests, it was found his organs were failing, liver last stage failure. The hospital staff attended his every need, doing their best to relieve his pain and discomfort.
Early stays at Kadelec hospital in Richland, WA and Virginia Mason in Seattle, Beavers received the same care.
Beavers began signs of decline the night of June 15th and continued June 16, yesterday.
I sat with him from afternoon to evening, 5 hours, praying for him. After a few minutes upon me arriving, he fell asleep. Shortly it was discovered he was no longer responding. He was switched to Comfort Care, keeping him comfortable.
While I was with him I prayed for God to restore him, Upright and Walking. I began to see that was not God's plan for my Beavers. As I played Psalms, sung from Youtube, I asked Jesus to give Beavers an easy, no struggle passage, asking Jesus to take him home. Beavers just quietly, peacefully stopped breathing.
Due to high winds, I left to drive home at 7:30 pm.
Last night at 10:45 approx., as the nurse had come in to adjust his oxygen, as she did, she noticed his heart had stopped. Praise God, Jesus answered our prayers. Separate from his body, now greeted and into the arms of Jesus. No more pain, anxiety, strife.
I will greatly miss my unique wonderful man Beavers/Gerald. I am so thankful he passed on free of pain and strife.
Trust in Jesus, the only way to Eternal Peace and Joy, free of all torment.
PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY!
