Geraldine was born to L.R. and Elsie Crawford in Republic, WA. Her family lived at Aeneas Valley, and when she was about three they moved near Hunters, WA. While attending Hunters High School, she met and fell in love with Jack Proctor, who drove her school bus. They were married May 21, 1938. They farmed for many years in Fruitland and Arden, eventually moving to Valley, WA where they continued to farm until retirement. Upon retirement they built a home in Chewelah, and Geraldine worked at St. Josephs Hospital for thirteen years in the kitchen.Geraldine was a dedicated wife and mother with many talents. She enjoyed working outdoors, and fishing with Jack. She was a Golden member of the Valley Grange. Geraldine and Jack enjoyed 68 years of marriage. After Jack passed away, Geraldine resided at the Fairwinds Retirement Community in Spokane for the last four and a half years of her life. Preceding her in death were her husband, Jack; parents L.R. and Elsie Crawford; brother Clinton, and sister, Berna Scheibner. Surviving relatives include her brother Dean Crawford (Orilee); her daughter Madeline Van Doren (Denny); sons John Proctor (Yvonne) and Jerry Proctor (Elizabeth); eleven grandchildren,; nine great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2011, 1:00 PM, at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 W. Wellesley, Spokane. Interment Fairmount Memorial Park.
