

Glen served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in engineering.
He married the love of his life Elva Lavern Martin on September 18, 1952 in the Salt Lake temple. Together they created a home where all were welcome. He worked for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Water District for several years until he retired in 1986. He was an engineer and inventor. He loved to create toys for his kids and presented several of his ideas to the Mattel Toy Company. He loved to solve problems and worked as a consultant after his retirement.
He loved to travel with his family and went to many places around the country and the world. He served in various callings in the LDS church and served a mission with his wife, Elva in Honduras.
He will be greatly missed. He touched the lives of all whom met him. He was a kind and gentle soul. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Elva and four children; Monica Steeves, Nola & Parley Smith, Victor Smith, Warren & Tracey Smith, daughter-in-law Kathy Carter, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, son, Roark Smith and granddaughter Melissa Smith. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Woodridge Chapel, 5001 W. Shawnee, Spokane. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Spokane.
