Hebert Daniel Wallace Nypen (Herbie), went to be with Jesus, and his family, on April 8, 2024. He was born to Les and Esther Nypen on March 18, 1938, in Everett, Washington. Herbie was born with cerebral palsy and the doctors said that he wouldn’t live to age 18. He defied the odds, and was able to live independently, most of his life, with help from caregivers. Herbie worked for Good Will for many years, survived two marriages, and recently celebrated his 86th birthday. He is the oldest of four, preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Kites, and two brothers Larry and Jim Nypen. Herbie is survived by his sister-in-law, Patty Nypen, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a determined man, and never liked to be told that he couldn’t do something due to his disabilities, but he mostly found reasons to laugh. It was no secret that Herbie loved to eat. He could out eat anyone, and did just that on most occasions, along with that love of laughter.
Herbie spent the last couple years enjoying his life at Millwood Heritage Adult Family Home. A heartfelt “Thank You” to you Mary, and your staff, for all your loving care. And a special “Thank You” to Horizon Hospice for showing such compassion for Herbie.
There will be a family graveside service at a later date.
