Passed away quietly on December 18th at Holy Family Hospital, to join his beloved wife of 31 years, Lillian. Howard was born August 2, 1926 in Riverside, CA, and raised in Needles, CA. He began his career as a draftsman at Douglas Aircraft, and in 1945, he entered the Army/Air Force, where he served as an MP in Kitzening, Germany. Discharged in 1947, he studied engineering at USC under the GI Bill. He was an aerospace design engineer, primarily at Lockheed, but also at Douglas, Northrup, and Boeing, until he retired in 1988. Howard started his family when he married Arlene Hyman in 1948. This union brought 3 loving and greatly loved children into the world. He married Lillian Bracken Kazmarek on Jan. 30, 1970. Upon retirement in 1988, they moved to Spokane to be close to family. Bloomsday became a focus of Howard’s interests and efforts to stay healthy. He made a great many friends during his running years and he loved his Bloomsday group. He also enjoyed new and varied music and had quite an eclectic collection of artists and styles, and he was an avid reader, a trait he passed along to his children. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian. He is survived by his son, Michael (and Diane) Stamp of Chandler, AZ, and his daughters Vicki (and Robert) Mollenkopf of Oldtown, ID, Marsha (and Wendy) Stamp of Spokane, WA, grandson, Jesse Jones and 2 great-grandsons, Tristan and Oakley. Howard was a loving and generous father and he will be greatly missed. According to his wishes, there will be no memorial service.
