Howard was born and raised in Spokane, by his parents, Sidney and Patricia Woollett. He grew up in the Spokane Valley and Mt Spokane foothills. He graduated from East Valley High School and attended Eastern Washington University.
He was married to his wife, Petria for 43 years and they had 2 children, Josh and Ashley. He was Papa to his 2 grand-daughters, Ruby and Emma, as well as the grand-puppy, Diesel. He loved and cherished his family and was a “big teddy bear” under his sometimes gruff exterior.
Howard was a quick learner, who rebuilt the Newman Lake house that his family lived in for 30+ years. There wasn’t many things he didn’t know how to fix and he would lend a hand to many friends over the years with their projects.
Howard enjoyed playing golf and soccer. He coached High School soccer for 4 years. He then became a referee and refereed all age groups, kids, high school, college and adults for over 20 years.
Those that loved him appreciated his quick sense of humor, hard-working attitude, willingness to lend a hand and honest / salt of the earth approach to life. He was the type of guy everyone would enjoy having a beer with; dependable, a great listener and always a joke at the ready.
He is survived by his wife, 2 children, 2 grandkids, a son-in-law, mother, 2 brothers, sister, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-laws on both his side and his wife’s side. Additionally, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was taken too soon and will be missed.
