Jane Wallace Stradley (age 93) passed away on September 28, 2013 in Spokane Valley, WA. Jane was born in Scotland on February 1, 1920 to William and Mary Archibald. Together they traveled that same year to America and she became and US Citizen on May 4, 1938. Jane grew up in Cle Elum, graduating from Cle Elum High School in 1938. Always an avid learner; she received certificates for never missing one day of school. After high school she began working at a restaurant and it was here that she met her husband, Alvie James Stradley. They were married on January 5, 1946 and moved to Spokane. Together they had two sons, Arch L. and Raymond J. (who passed away on June 8, 1992). Jane dedicated her life to being the best wife and mother that she could be. Family was her life and she enjoyed spending this time together. Often she could be seen out in the garden, canning home grown foods, or in the home sewing new clothes for the family. Her love of the outdoors with the family, took them on many camping and fishing adventures. Jane was a true conservationist and recycler. She never threw anything away. She even went to the extent of moving her house to new spots instead of buying new homes. She also loved her cats and one was never far from her side. Jane is survived by her son, Arch and his wife, Sandie; three grandchildren, Lonnie Stradley, Stacie Ellis, Connie Averson and five great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
