Janice Mary Richardson, 70, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born May 8, 1955, in Hillsboro, Oregon, Jan devoted her life to her family and especially her husband and best friend, Jerry. Their life was filled with laughter, shared adventures, and time spent traveling, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors with those they loved. She had a special gift for bringing people together and was known for her warmth, humor, and the spirited, joyful way she lived her life.
Jan worked 29 years with Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies and seven years at Shriners Hospital for Children, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and attention to detail. She looked forward each year to trips with family, her band of high school friends, and beach trips with her sisters. After retiring, Jan embraced the life she and Jerry had dreamed of—traveling, exploring National Parks, camping, spending time at the ocean, and on the beaches of Mexico, surrounded by friends and family.
More than anything, Jan cherished time with family, especially her grandchildren Braylen and Camden. Whether on an adventure, gathered around camp, in the kitchen cooking, or playing games, they were the center of her heart and brought her endless joy. She loved deeply and created lasting memories with them that will be treasured always.
Janice is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jerry, her sons Chris (Kirsten) and Jared (Ally), and her grandsons Braylen and Camden. She is also survived by her siblings Bob (Rae) True, Mike (Debbie) True, Sharon Rinell, Dave (Tina) True, Carol (Joe) Braun, and Larry (Meghan) True, sisters-in-law Joann (Tom) Medcalf and Judy (Nathan) Lawless, and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends who love her dearly.
A service will be held on May 15 at 1 PM at Fir Gable, 7420 E Bernhill Road, Colbert, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to Shriners Children’s Hospital or Spokane Hospice House.
