Jan was born March 12, 1951 in Spokane, WA and was welcomed as the first child of Richard and Lucille Eoff. Soon there was a younger brother and when Jan was just a toddler the family moved to Sandpoint, Idaho where another sister and brother were added to the family. In the early 1960’s the Eoff family moved to Cheney, WA where Jan was raised. Jan was an ambitious and capable teenager and soon had part time jobs for local businesses during high school. After graduating from high school she pursued a career in dentistry, starting as a dental assistant, then advancing to a long career in managing dental offices.
Jan was a devoted Christian, loving God, His Son and His kingdom. She was faithful to her heartfelt choice to commitment her life to God from the young age of 13. She thoroughly enjoyed living her days for Gods people until she passed on to her hope and confidence of spending eternity with her heavenly Father.
As we all know, Jan made each of us feel very special by the giving of many gifts from her heart; the warm welcomes and open door to her home, phone calls, cookies, and coffee! As her children will agree from observing their mother throughout their lives, she never did anything without going the second mile, thinking of others before herself. Her influence has inspired us. In addition to Jan’s two children: Chad (Megen) Shields and Melissa (Jaben) Ross; Jan is survived by her grandchildren, Cole (Lorena) Ross, Walker Ross, Bria Shields, Grayson Shields, and great granddaughter Harlen Ross. Also her three siblings: Howard (Sue) Eoff, Carol (Mike) Robertson, Larry (Karen) Eoff. And numerous nieces, nephews and faithful friends. Jan was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Lucille Eoff.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to The Fields Senior Living residents and staff and to the Spokane Hospice House staff and volunteers for their watch over and genuine care for Jan.
