Joel Wesley Livingston

On February 7th, 2018 Joel Wesley Livingston passed away unexpectedly at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA from a stroke after having the flu. Joel was born on November 20th, 1969 in Clarkston, WA. He was the first of three children born to Gordon Livingston and Marlene (Johnson) Livingston. His siblings are Mark Livingston and Lynee Clay, both of Spokane, WA.

Joel spent his formative years in Reno, NV playing soccer and basketball in school. Joel went to college in 1990 with a scholarship to play soccer at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID. His brother Mark joined Joel at Northwest Nazarene the following year. Soon after graduation, Joel moved to Spokane, WA where he worked. During his career, Joel worked in insurance sales, account management and accounting. Joel was committed to his work and very much enjoyed his position as Financial Controller of PayTrace, LLC. Joel had two children Luke and Nicole from his first marriage.

Joel and his wife Stephanie (Blankenship) Livingston got engaged in Lincoln City, OR in 2013 and married at the Manito Golf and Country Club of Spokane, WA in 2014. Joel loved watching sports including Gonzaga basketball and Seattle Seahawks football. He also loved watching his children, nephews and nieces participate in their sports and activities.

Joel is survived by his wife Stephanie Livingston, children Luke Livingston and Nicole Livingston, his mother Marlene Livingston Curry, his step-father Arrah Curry, his siblings Mark (Aimee) Livingston, Lynee (Ken) Clay and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Gordon Livingston.

A celebration of Joel’s life will be held on February 24th, 2018 at Valley Real Life Church. The service begins at 1pm. Thornhill Valley Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Family and friends are invited to sign the guestbook at http://www.dignitymemorial.com/thornhill-valley-chapel.
