PANDELIS, John Aleck, Jr., “Johnny” (Age 79). A lifelong resident, John passed away October 18, 2010. Born November 25, 1930 with twin-sister Joanne to John Aleck Pandelis, Sr. and Sarah Maude (Snider) Pandelis. He attended Willard Grade School and graduated from North Central High School and Kinman Business University. After graduation he was employed by Montgomery Ward Mail Order Warehouse and through the years held positions of various occupations. He retired from Spokane County Assessor’s Office in 1979 due to health reasons. John joined the Air National Guard on July 23, 1948 and on February 1, 1951 the 116th Fighter Squadron was ordered into active military service, serving in England. He was honorably discharged July 12, 1952. He met his wife Arlene in 1951; they were married in 1954 and recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. John’s hobbies were woodworking, and he was very talented and creative in many metal and mechanical projects. His passion was medicine. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Lois. He is survived by his wife Arlene; sisters, Helen Valentine (Merrill) of Beaverton, Oregon, Dorothy Doeleman (Dan) of Spokane and twin sister Joanne Galloway, Spokane; four nieces and six nephews and many cherished friends and family. He will be greatly missed. A memorial Service will be held at North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post Street, Spokane, on October 30, 2010 at 11:30 A.M.
