He was born in Wenatchee, WA. He lived in Fruitland for many years. He worked in the construction field building bridges, worked as a caregiver, a sawmill worker, mechanic, and also did farm work. He had 14 brothers and sisters. His parents were Fred and Harriet of Yakima.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mae Ann Gertsch. He has four children, Connie Roll of Yakima, Tina Gertsch of Spokane, Donna Gertsch of Ulen, MN, and Rodney Gertsch of Fruitland. He has one brother, Clifford (Jack) Gertsch of Chewelah, as well as many nieces and nephews. He has seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Services will be held December 11, 2024 at 10:00 am at Mountain View Cemetery in Davenport, WA.
