Joshua Thomas Floyd, 30, passed away on April 28th 2020 in Spokane Valley, Washington.

Although only 30 years old, Josh was known and loved by many. His contagious laugh lit up the room, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. He was a beloved son, devoted father and brother, caring grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Josh was born on July 31st, 1989 in Spokane Washington, where he attended Blake Elementary, North Pines Middle School, and University High School. He always had a passion for adventure. He loved fishing, camping, skateboarding, gardening, and riding his motorcycle. Above all, Josh had an unstoppable love for his son, Ryder Floyd.

He is survived by his parents Ric and Lisa Lake of Spokane Valley and Tom Floyd of Wenatchee, his son Ryder Floyd, his sister and brother in law Ali and Mat Trombetta, his girlfriend Brandi Hedquist, and the mother of his son and friend Dede Porch. He also leaves behind his grandparents Bob and Jan Tritle and Myrtle Floyd, close friends and cousins Kyle Tritle and Jeremy Tritle, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

We hope to have a proper memorial service for Josh at the end of July when it is safe to gather in large groups publicly. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Ryder Floyd’s private school, House of the Lord Christian Academy.

Josh was my son, I was present for the birth of him into this world. At a very young age I took him fishing in which he caught on very quickly and was good at it and enjoyed it. Often times missing school to do so. Josh was given many talents the love of anything that had a motor on it, I would come home from work and many times to him and his friends were in the garage working on something even if it didn't need fixing. He had a gift of making friends where ever he went. His laughter and smile was unmistakable and a draw to everyone. His best talent and love was his son Ryder. A father's love is a father's love. He was a Father,a brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and son. A father's love is a father's love.
Love you and miss you.

Josh had my back growing up. I was a target for bullies and Josh never let any of them get away with it.
I was the “weird kid” and Josh turned it into something positive always telling me “stay weird”. It has always stuck with me ever since.
Don’t worry Josh. I’m still weird and I’ll always stay that way ❤️

Josh and I spent a lot of time together throughout middle school. I was always at his house skateboarding and hanging out. Between that, riding dirt bikes, playing guitar or fishing with his step dad it was no doubt we weren’t together every weekend. We lost touch after high school but I always knew he was there if I needed a good friend to talk to. Can’t wait to meet again bud! Forever Young.

Josh was the first person I met when we moved to Spokane in the mid-90's. My childhood was defined by spending time with Ali, Josh and their cousin Kyle.
Being pulled behind the bikes around the block, sledding, camping on their deck, and playing games in the basement.
He'll be missed by many.
Thanks for the good times.

Josh was my brother. He was a father, a son, a friend, and so much more. Josh was everything. His spirit shines on through his son, who is like him in more ways than I can count. Josh always protected me and stood up for me, and he would do anything to make me laugh. I’ll tell my kids about their Uncle Josh every day and I’ll tell Ryder about all of the hilarious things you used to do, about the person you were and how much you loved him. Josh, you will never be forgotten ❤️ Rest In Peace J-flo
