June Marie Holman

June was born to Frank & Emma Anderson on December 4, 1926 in Spokane, WA. She graduated as Valedictorian from Rogers High School and attended Washington State College on a tennis scholarship.

June was a church organist for 40 years and taught piano and organ lessons for 30 years. June was a member of AGO, Spokane Music Teachers Association, Valley Senior Center and an active member of Spokane Valley Nazarene Church.

Survivors include daughters Cheryl Holman of Spokane and Debbie (Bob) Dutton of Coeur d’Alene, son Robert (Lynda) Holman of Kent; grandchildren Jason (Breeanne) Dutton, Brianne (Jared) Ozaki, Nathan (Samantha) Dutton, Laura and Matthew Holman; brother-in-law Don Schafer of Oceanside, CA; and great-grandchildren (which were the joy of her life) Wells, Bauer and Macall Dutton, Iliza and Elyse Ozaki and Sunny, Ciara, Janessa and Russell Dutton and 5 nephews.

June was married to Alvin Holman for 58 years. He preceded her in death in 2006. Her sister Eleanor Schafer preceded her in death in 2009 and also brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chet and Dolores Holman.

June loved to travel. June and Al went on 12 different cruises and visited several other countries. June enjoyed bridge, pinochle, table games (which all her grandchildren loved to play with her up until the end). She was a Gonzaga basketball fan, a WSU sports fan and tennis fan. June enjoyed the family gatherings and truly lived her life to the fullest.

There will be a public viewing at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home 1306 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206 on Friday, July 8 from 4-7 pm. Private graveside services will be held at Riverside Memorial Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 30 at 11 am at Spokane Valley Nazarene Church 15515 E 20th Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99037. There will be a reception after the celebration of Life at the church. Memorials may be made to the Union Gospel Mission or Hospice of Spokane South.
