Katherine Kitty M. Shoemaker Jans

Katherine M. “Kitty” Jans (age 67) entered into rest November 20, 2011. She was born February 28, 1944, in Los Angeles, CA, and was raised in Kettle Falls, WA, later moving to Spokane where she spent much of her life. In March 1962 she married Alvin L. Skeels in Coeur d’Alene, ID, with whom she had two daughters. In 1968 she married Henry R. Jans in Moses Lake, WA, with whom she had two sons. She is survived by daughters, Cheryl M. Roberts, Catherine L. Brewer; sons, Henry R. Jans Jr, John C. Jans, all of Spokane, WA; six grandchildren, Tairra Tuckness, Rachelle Sitek, Johnathon Skeels, David Bishop, Jr., Jessica Jans, Sammy Jans; several great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jeanice Jensen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Jans; and grandsons, Robert Hanson and Cody Davis. Kitty enjoyed her regular visits for coffee at Shari’s and Perkins on North Division, where she was quite a visitor with the staffs.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave, Spokane.
