Kay was born on January 7, 1936 in Okinawa, Japan, to Setsuko and Eisho Higa.
Kay was married to James W. Cook for 23 wonderful years. She enjoyed gardening, playing games, watching wrestling, going to the casino, spending time with family, and watching movies. Her family and friends will always remember her as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed entering vegetables, she grew, at the fair. She was quiet, kind and good-hearted, with a sense of humor.
Kay is survived by her brother Hiroyuki Higa of Japan, daughter Hastumi (Shigaru) Kyan of Okinawa, Japan. Gina (Troy) Coyne and son Bruce (Sheryl) Jackson. Step-sons Bill (Doris) Cook and Richard (Linda) Cook, grandchildren Tanya, Tracy, Chelsea, Joe, Andy, Melanie. Also, Nastumi and Midori of Okinawa Japan and numerous great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband James W. Cook.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on 10/09/2021, at Thornhill Valley Chapel.
