

Kimball, Kenneth Merle (Age 80) Passed away on August 8, 2011 in Spokane, WA. Born in Olatha, CO on December 5, 1930 to Charles and Olive Kimball. Ken attended schools in Savage, MT and Glendive, MT. He entered service in the US Army in November of 1950, serving as a member of Company E, 532nd Engineer Battalion. His duty led him to Korea from June 1951 to October 1951. He holds the Korean Service Ribbon with 2 Campaign Stars, a United Nation Ribbon and the Army Occupation Medal for Service in Japan. After returning from duties overseas dad met and courted Faril Fay Parker. They married on July 16, 1954. Dad worked for Caterpillar, Inc. at the Caterpillar Depot in Spokane, WA from his hire in 1956 to his retirement in 1986. Dad liked to paint seascapes, lighthouses, mountain views and military hardware in oil. He belonged to the Spokane Art Club. He was also passionate about running his HO scale Trains on the rail yard and mountain view setup he built. Kenneth is survived by his wife Faril; daughters, Debra & Dan Topp, Diana Kimball, and Beatrice & Randy Hill; son, Spencer & Cheral Kimball; grandchildren, JoAnn & Jeromy Farnsworth, Laurie & TSGT Joshua Romero, Alissa & Robert Mayfield, SrA Amanda & TSGT Michael Berquist, Kristi & PVT Zach Rodgers, Kenneth Lucas, Katie Kimball, Tony Topp and Morgan Topp; and 7 great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 9:00 A.M., Spokane Memorial Gardens followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 A.M. at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home.
