(Age 53)
Ken was born in Santa Ana, California on March 31, 1963 and passed away in Spokane, WA on April 17, 2016.
He is survived by his children: Jamie Lambie, Colin Lambie, Jill Lambie; fiance’ Cheryl Spilker; brother Gavin Lambie, sister Lindsay Wilme; father Alexander Lambie; and in-laws Ray and Lenore Trachta. He was preceded in death by Patricia Lambie (wife) and Christine Lambie (mother).
Ken believed that life is about relationships and people. His enthusiasm for life and making a difference was immediately evident to anyone he met. Whether talking about his children, Lambie Engineering, Dale Carnegie, or the weather, people always left with a smile and feeling like their day was a little bit better.
Ken was a mechanical engineer whose pride and joy was his company. After working for almost 30 years at various companies, his lifelong dream of owning his own company was realized 6 years ago. The pride he felt for Lambie Engineering showed so brightly in his eyes whenever he talked about it. Going to the shop was never “work” for him; it was a day full of opportunities and possibilities.
Ken married Patti Trachta, his first love, in 1989. Their passion and greatest accomplishments were their children. After Patti’s death he wanted to continue her dream for their kids. His drive and purpose in life was to provide for and encourage his children to be all they could be. His phrases “Go do!” and “Why not you?” are words that shaped his children’s lives to become the amazing and successful young adults that they are. Ken’s heart beamed every time he talked about his kids. They loved to travel, hike, ski, boat and make memories together. His family was everything to him.
Four years ago, Ken was once again blessed and met the second love of his life, Cheryl. Ken and Cheryl enjoyed travel, family and shared many good times. As his friend, partner and fiancé, Cheryl fought alongside Ken through his battle with cancer. Cheryl will forever be in our hearts, and a huge part of our family.
A memorial service for Ken will be held at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA on Saturday, April 30th at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Gospel Mission of Spokane or Boy Scouts of America.
