Laurel Jackson, loving mother and friend to many passed away on December 30, 2017, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on July 10, 1945 to Albert “Bud” and Elaine Abbott. Laurel graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1963. She was a lifelong resident of Spokane. Laurel was a popular waitress in downtown Spokane, working for many years at Flaherty’s before retiring from the Satellite Diner. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Scott Mielcarek of Puyallup, WA and her sister, Sharon (Rogers) Matayoshi of Kirkland, WA, a niece and three nephews.
