Leo Everett Curtis was born October 10, 1930 in McClusky, ND to Virgil Henry Curtis and Pearl Lulu Hullinger-Curtis. He passed away at age 87 on March 21, 2018. He graduated from McClusky High School then from Northwest Bible Academy in Minot ND. Leo married Hilma Ruth Boeckel on September 21, 1951. He served in the US Army and was
stationed at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. After getting out of the Army he worked at the Agricultural Experimental Farm for the state of Alaska in Fairbanks. He moved to the Army Corp of Engineers working in maintenance and water quality including servicing the early warning missile sites at times. The family moved to Cheney Washington in 1968. He worked for the State initially painting buildings at Eastern Washington State College then at Medical Lake from 1982 until he retired in 1993.
Leo is survived by Hilma Curtis, his wife of 66 ½ years; Milton Curtis, married to Jeannie living in Kenmore, WA; Merlon Curtis, married to Mary Ellen living in Spokane Valley, WA; Mark Curtis, married to Amy living in Spokane, WA; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and Lois Sease, sister living in McClusky, ND. Leo was preceded in death by Virgil Curtis Sr, father; Pearl Curtis, mother; Annetta Bender, sister; Virginia Halquist, sister; and Virgil Curtis Jr, twin brother. Invitation for viewing on Friday March 23rd, 1:00 until 5pm at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Ball & Dodd.
