Louis Carl Poppe

Louis Carl Poppe, 88, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013 in Spokane, Washington. He was born on December 13, 1924 in Hebron, Nebraska to Emil and Hanna Poppe. The family moved to Spokane where Lou finished high school before serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He returned to Spokane where he met the love of his life, Marcella.

Lou placed family first and he enjoyed encouraging his boys and watching them grow. In addition to nights out dancing with his bride, favorite pastimes included bowling, playing cards and fishing. He loved his circle of close friends and also enjoyed many good years at Elks Lodge 228.

Besides Marcella, Lou is survived by his sons Keith and his wife Angie of Spokane, and Ken and his wife Dana of Auburn; his grandchildren Ken, Tony, Kendall, Kyle and Corbin; and his great-grandchildren “Teenie” and Kenny Jr.
