Marian Edith Swanson

In the morning hours of December 15, 2015, Mary passed peacefully home to be with the Lord. Mary was born in New Mexico in May of 1938. She met and married her husband, Herb, in 1955. Together they lived with their hearts full, for 60 years. She loved family times and making special quilts. She was a cook for 25 years at EVSD for many smiling faces. Then she retired to live the rest of her happy life with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Swanson; her three children/spouses, Joseph/Diane Swanson, Janet/Ken Brown and John/Tina Swanson, as well as five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, her brother, Philip Mateer, her sisters, Evelyn Brown and Linda Nelson. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Bernice Mateer, sister, Elaine Glover and her dear brother, Jack Mateer. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation or volunteer at your local Second Harvest food bank.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2pm to 5pm at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 9:30am on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA, with interment at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
