

Marilu Juanita Malott, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord peacefully on june 23, 2026. she was born Marilu Juanita Lawson on November 24, 1929, in Spokane, Washington. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and later became a youth leader at Healing Waters Tabernacle in Spokane. it was at this church that she met Douglas Malott, and they were married on February 9, 1950.
Later in her life, Marilu went back to school and became an L.P.N. She worked as a nurse in the I.C.U. at St. Luke's Hospital, then transferred to Deaconess Hospital's I.C.U. when St. Luke's Hospital became a rehabilitation medical center. Marilu loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart. She was a faithful, active member of the Rock of Ages Christian Fellowship in Spokane, where she served as head of the Children's ministry and taught Sunday school, led Pioneer Girls, and led Puppets and Praise, and YWAM Kings Kids performance group.
She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Malott, her brothers David, Dean, and Wayne. Her younger sister Waynetta passed into glory just three days following her homegoing.
She is survived by her sister Eilene, her children, Douglas Malott, Crystal Shaeffer, and Marilee Kincaid, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Gravesite and memorial arrangements are being handled by Ball and Dodd Funeral Home. Marilu will be buried with her husband at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.
