Marilyn M Bond

Marilyn Marie Bond passed away in Spokane, Washington, on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. She was born on November 14, 1923, in Colusa, California to Elwin and Dorothy (Spurgeon) Taylor. She attended Woodland High School. She met her husband, Chester W. Bond when she was young and they were married on April 5, 1942, in Reno Nevada. During World War II she worked for Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, Calif. until her husband returned from the war. They had three children, Jackson W. Bond and Susan L. Morasch (twins) and another son, William C. Bond. Marilyn lived in Sacramento, California, and with her husband, built a house in Carmichael, California. When her husband was transferred to the Northwest with P.G. & E. in 1961, they lived in Waitsburg, Washington until 1963, moved to Walla Walla and in 1975, moved to Spokane living there until her death. Marilyn was an accomplished decorator, creative woodworker, and beautiful seamstress. After retirement she and Chet had a small woodworking businesses, C & M Hand Arts. She crafted exquisite doll furniture and a doll house for her granddaughter and herself. She was a wonderful mother. She loved cooking, dancing, golfing, and morning cribbage games with Chet. She loved to entertain guests providing beautifully decorated tables and delicious meals. She loved being a grandma and gave them love and support throughout their growing up years. She was a loving wife caring for Chet in his decline with Alzheimer’s Disease, visiting him nearly every day for four years while he was in care facilities. He passed away December 14, 2006. Marilyn is survived by her three children, Jackson and wife, Shirley Bond, Susan Morasch, William Bond; a brother, John Taylor, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law, Thomas Morasch, and daughter-in-law, Jillian Bond, and her parents and stepmother, Hazel Taylor. The service was held on Friday, December 17th at Thornhill Valley Chapel in Spokane Valley. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
