Michael Serpa

Michael “Mike” Serpa, 60, of Spokane, WA, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. He was born in Boise, ID, on April 12, 1960 to Gerald and Gail (Ring) Serpa. Michael was a savvy businessman and worked many years in the insurance industry. Later he worked in construction as a drywall installer alongside his father and brother. Michael was as a fun and loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He was always the life of the party with his charismatic personality and made those around him laugh with his jokes and antics. Michael enjoyed being outdoors, especially if it involved water. He could be found camping, riding dirt bikes, fishing, river rafting, or at the lake boating, water skiing, and having barbecues. Michael had a passion for anything that went fast including muscle cars, classic trucks, motorcycles, and speedboats. His hobbies comprised of building and launching model rockets, building model cars, and racing RC cars. He loved rock ‘n’ roll music and would often jam out, playing his famous “air guitar” with all the kids in the family. Michael’s story will live on through the cherished memories and laughter of his loved ones. He will be missed immensely. Michael is survived by his mother, Gail Harty (Ring); his children, Heidi (Robert) Findley, Erin Serpa, Alicia Serpa, and Steven Serpa; his sister, Julie McGlynn (Serpa); his eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Serpa; and his brother, David Serpa. Family, friends, and others whose lives Michael touched are invited to attend his memorial service at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Eastpoint Church located at 15303 E Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99037.
