Friends,
            Mrs. Barrett was a bright inspiration in my life. She was composting for her massive yearly garden before that trend caught on. If she wasn't  inside her home, check outside to find her tending the veggies.
           Mrs. Barrett was the eyes and ears of the neighborhood. We were neighbors....just a couple houses apart. If any strange vehicle, person, or suspicious situation ensued.....Mrs. Barrett was scoping it out.
            Mrs. Barrett babysat me on occasion. Just recently, I was discussing my retirement plans with her.....so ironic. I've arrived at the old folk club. A little more gray in the hair, fillings in the teeth, and lead in my bottom.  Lol.
              Heaven has opened up it's gates for yet another great person.....Mrs. Barrett. I feel fortunate to have known her family for decades. She will be missed.

My mother, Anne, worked with Mrs. Barrett.  Every morning my father took my brother and I to school and my mom and Mrs. Barrett to work.  I remember Mrs. Barrett's  sweet smile and soft voice and I was happy she was a part of our mornings.
She touched my heart with her kindness and quiet courage.  
May God Bless her and may she rest in peace.
