I had the privilege of meeting Gene briefly.  It was easy to see he was a gentle and  kind person. 

He has been in my thoughts. I know he will be greatly  missed by family and friends.

You did not have far to go to join your Christ dear brother; and now you are forever among the saints you've served.  Ritchie must have carried you in honorarium, as you so proposed in all your plans; and I stood by you in the cold lonely morning, if only in my heart, so far away.  You illuminated your path with gentleness and kindness, in charity and forgiving; and most of all in humility of spirit, thinking always of those around you, those you loved and those you touched.  There is joy in heaven now, in the reunion you fulfill; but oh the loss we harbor here, can never take your place.   Rest in Peace dear cousin, brother, Samaritan friend.
