Norma was born on February 26, 1929, in El Dorado, Arkansas. She graduated from El Dorado High School and attended Louisiana Tech prior to her marriage to Vard Smith. Following the birth of their two children, they relocated to Spokane.
Norma enjoyed reading, was a proficient cook, loved flowers and working in her yard, and travelling to Maui.
In the fall of 2020, her children moved her to Arizona to be able to provide the care she needed. She resided at Robson Reserve, both in Independent Living and Memory Care until her move one month ago to a private group home to be even closer to her children as her health declined.
Norma is survived by her two children: Randy (Julie) Smith, and Teresa (Scott) Adams. She had four grandchildren, Chris (Haley) Adams, Missy (KC) Roland, Mitchell Smith, and was preceded in death by her grandson, Benjamin Smith. She has two great-children: Audrey and Annie Adams.
A private Interment is scheduled at Fairmount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Norma’s honor to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and BES Assisted Living for their kind and loving care provided for Norma during her final month of life.
Professional services are being conducted by Ball & Dodd.
