Born January 27, 1912 to Elmer and Anna Mills in Spokane, WA. Passed away June 30, 2010 in Spokane Valley, WA. As an active member of Fourth Memorial Church for over fifty years, Norm served as an Elder, teacher, choir member and finish carpenter. His love for his work as a custom homebuilder and remodeler was surpassed only by his commitment to his Savior, Jesus Christ, and his family. Many homes in Spokane and Eastern Washington are a testimony to his craftsmanship. In every area of his life, Norm applied Colossians 3:16, 17 & 23:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom… and whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him… do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.
His quiet demeanor and peaceful spirit were an encouragement and inspiration to friends and family alike. He was truly a man after God’s own heart. Norman is survived by his wife of 74 years, Helen Mills; children, Bert Mills (Maryly) of Loon Lake, WA and Sharon Sackett (Frederick) of Sun River, OR; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 2:00 till 8:00pm, Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 11:30am, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Fourth Memorial Church, 2000 N. Standard St, Spokane, WA. A private entombment will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to: Union Gospel Mission, 1224 E. Trent Ave, Spokane, WA 99202.
