Patricia Ruth Pfeiffer

Pat went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 16, 2021. She was born in Brainerd, MN on October 12, 1925 to Francis and Effie DeMars. She attended one-room schools in Aitkin County, graduated salutatorian from Aitkin High School and attended St. Cloud Teacher’s College. During WWII, she worked at Hill Field Air Base, UT; and on the Manhattan Project at Hanford, WA. She then taught in a one-room school in Hayden, ID. She married Clyde Pfeiffer in 1945. In 1948, they settled in Otis Orchards, WA, where she lived 73 years.

In addition to raising seven children, some of her many accomplishments included active in churches as a Sunday School teacher, superintendent, and leader of Vacation Bible Schools, which drew 200 children. She was active in the Rock Rollers Gem and Mineral Club, holding several positions. She served forty years on the Christian Workers Conference and co-directed for eight years. She developed Christian Writers Workshops and led them until her death. Pat authored 13 novels.

She was predeceased by her husband and is survived by her children: David (Kathy), Gerry, Susan (Steve) Davis, Barbara (Bob) Asbury, Joy (Bill) Schell, Karen, and Diane (Jeff) Estep, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
