Colleague of Pat for over 20 years.  We all sat next to one another for many of those years working side by side, talking about work, current politics, local events, life and family.  From day one of working with Pat, you could see how much love and dedication he had for his family.  He lived and worked to provide a better life for his family and more recently was excited about the possibility of retirement.  Pat’s sense of humor made work light and fun.  I always looked forward in working with Pat as it seemed he knew almost everything electrical.  If he didn’t know the answer right away, you could guarantee he would dig in to figure it out.  He seemed to always have a previous example of something he did in the past that could be used to help with current situations.  He was a gentle giant with a wealth of knowledge and a heart of gold.  Pat has taught me more than I can remember and I miss my friend and colleague.

Big brother, I will remember you eating cereal out of a large mixing bowl and still being a string bean.  Remember as a kid you picked out the most thoughtful Christmas gifts. Remember you buying that street bike you didn’t know how to ride. Road it home anyway. As a middle aged man, I remember you making a wicked back flip into Lake Silverwood that impressed everyone.  Mostly I remember the love and joy you had for your children and family .  

I worked with Pat for over 20 years and he was a great guy to work with. He had a very unique and quirky sense of humor. You could always count on Pat to bring levity to work. Whether it was greeting you with a long pronunciation of your name or leaving with a finger snap and hand clap or just a witty one liner. He kept work light and fun. He was always willing to help and could work on any project asked to help with. He will be missed. 

As a co-worker, I have a few memories I would like to share.

The first was the picture frame he had on his desk with the children holding DAD letters. I thought it was so neat that I told my girlfriend about it and she decided to do the same picture for her MOM one Christmas with her two siblings.

The second was working in Worcester, MA a few summers back. Pat always hopped in and got dirty to get the job done, no matter what. The plant was miserably hot and I remember Pat walking up to me, his button-up shirt soaking wet and saying, "Man, I think someone opened up a faucet on me"

The last may not be socially correct, but it was the best. Pat, myself and another engineer, Thuan, were working in the Los Angeles area. One day, we decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. Thuan ordered the "Blazing Wings" because he thought he could handle it. As Thuan is eating and realizing that he had made a very big mistake, Pat looks over at me and says, "It sure looks like this Vietnamese guy is turning into an Indian." because Thuans' face was red as a beet. I literally fell in the floor laughing. 

Pat was a great friend, co-worker and one of most intelligent engineers at Alliance. He could remember specifics about machines that were 20-30 years old right off the top of his head. He was also part of the original crew that began the "Very Nice" statement. I am sure you have heard it a time or two.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you all.

I worked with Pat for many years, and didn't know him nearly as well as I would have liked to,  but he was always such a positive and jovial soul to be around......he will be sorely missed at work and in this world......there are not enough people in this world with the kindness that Pat exuded on a daily basis.
