Paul was born June 7, 1952 in Helena, MT. On July 7, 1953 Paul found his forever family when he was adopted by Norman and Mary Janett Risley then joined big sister Anne. They made their home in Libby, MT until they relocated to Spokane in 1956.
Paul was educated at St. Paschals School, Gonzaga Prep and West Valley High School (graduating class of 1970).
Paul held a variety of jobs prior to completing the Sheet Metal Program in Spokane. He graduated in 1979 and became a member of Union #55. The majority of his career he worked for Krueger Sheet Metal. He specialized in fabrication and installation of commercial kitchens in restaurants and schools. This job took Paul from Honolulu to Pittsburgh and many cities in between.
Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf prior to his health issues. He got great enjoyment watching his sons play hockey, baseball, and football. He also enjoyed making custom pieces out of stainless steel, copper, and other metals. His biggest project was rebuilding a 1971 Mach 1 Mustang with his eldest son Kevin. This car won multiple awards at several car shows. Paul was a perfectionist in any task he took on. In 2008 he bought a new Ford F250 PU and repainted it before ever driving it. The paint job on this truck turned heads wherever it went and he always received comments on how beautiful it was.
Paul was truly a family man who was very proud of his wife, Barbara and his sons Kevin and Matt. He was so proud of the great men his boys became.
Preceded Paul in death were his parents Norman Risley and Mary Janett Risley. Paul leaves behind his wife of 47 years Barbara, his sister Anne Allison, sons Kevin (Sydney) Matt (Emily) and grandchildren Wyatt, Issac, River, Wade and Ty. He also leaves behind several in-laws, five nieces and two nephews.
A casual celebration of life will be held April 27th at Darcy's Restaurant in Spokane Valley from 1-4pm. The family invites you to come and pay your respects and share any memories you have of Paul.
