Pauline, born January 29, 1929, in Coyote, New Mexico passed away peacefully January 9, 2026. She was a beloved wife to Clifford Ray Olson for 78 years, and devoted mother to their 6 boys. They made their home in Spokane Valley, Washington.
Pauline lived her life serving Christ and others. She was a member of the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene for more than 7 decades. She taught Sunday school, VBS, served on the kitchen staff, sang in the choir, arranged flowers for each Sunday service, and helped anywhere else she was needed. Her passion was missions. After retiring, she and Ray went on over 15 mission trips all over the world, building churches and serving as interpreter in Latin and South America. Some of these were accompanied by their sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Her faith was strong and her adventure continues in the presence of her Savior.
Pauline loved flowers and her yard was in full bloom in the summers. She also enjoyed gardening and grew most of the family's food for the year. She volunteered at Spokane Valley Hospital for several years after her children were raised. Pauline was also a member of the Mother of Twins Club for over 10 years, serving as treasurer. She and Ray collected and delivered medical supplies to Hands of Hope, which were sent all over the world.
Pauline is survived by her husband Ray, sons John, Larry (Shirley), Barry (Suzanne), Richard, James (Lisa); brothers Ruben Morfin, Lester Morfin, and sister Lydia Thornock Parks and many others whose lives were impacted by her faith and love. She was preceded in death by her parents Jose (Joe) and Josefa Morfin; son Robert Olson; sisters Elda Slack, Lita Putzier Kipper, Delores Lankford Patrick, and brother Alvaro Morfin.
A service is planned for February 7, 2026 at Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene at 1pm. Contributions may be made to the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene missions.
