He was born October 21st, 1944, at St. Lukes Hospital in Spokane WA. He graduated from North Central High School and raised a family while working for Fiber Form, Ram Engine and finally Spalding Auto parts.
In 1972, Philip married Dianna Lee Massengale and the couple had three children together. Philip lived for his family and often worked two or three jobs at times. Philip first heard the gospel when he met Dianna in 1971. He later embraced the gospel in 1977 and continued in it faithfully until his passing.
Philip enjoyed rehabbing Honda's that came out of Spalding's Wrecking Yard which also supplemented income for his family. He loved building things and racing RC cars. Many of which he has on display from years gone by. He was also quite the cook, making various home cooked meals and the best breakfast in town!
His family and friends remember him as a hard-working man who respected everyone, and always thought of others. He was a man of integrity. His word was his bond, and his handshake was as solid as it gets. Philip loved Convention. He especially loved waking up early and helping peel potatoes for the congregation. You could say he had the "gift of gab" and loved being out and about, spending time with family and the Friends. Philip was the kind of man who would stop to help a stranded driver or pick up a stray dog.
Philip is survived by his wife, Dianna Leigh. His children, Stephanie Evey, Brian Leigh and Kimberly Hynes. His grandchildren Malcolm Leigh, Levi Evey, Brandon Leigh, Vanessa Leigh and Mya Evey along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Mother Drew, Father Philip and brother Richard.
He will be deeply missed.
