

“Big John”
Phillip J. Christoph (age 72) passed away March 1, 2011 in Portland, OR. He was born June 19, 1938 in Spokane, WA to Bill and Irene Christoph. He was a lifetime Spokane resident and served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 59. He worked as a dump truck driver as a member of Teamsters local #690 for over 40 years, retiring in 2000. He loved stock car racing as well as NASCAR, and enjoyed wintering in Arizona and summering in Kettle Falls. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Bea Christoph of Spokane; seven children, Kym Christiansen (Ross) of Spokane, Mark Christoph (Phyllis) of Indio, CA, Dixie Wopperer of Lynnwood, WA, Nikki Tompson (Gary) of West Seattle, WA, Cathy Heinle (Trent) of Spokane, Bartley Deen (Chuck) of Spokane, Luke Christoph of West Seattle; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Rick Wanrow, Art Wanrow, Jerry Wilson; and his #1 loves Dante, Bones and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Helen Wilson; brother-in-law, Jerry Wanrow; son, John John Christoph; and daughter, Wanda Deen. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Alwin Chapel at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St, www.hazenjaeger.net .
