Robert “Bob” Stapleton entered into rest May 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born January 5, 1935 in Yakima, WA to Cleo and Helen (Hauer) Stapleton. The family moved from Yakima, WA to Kellogg, ID where Bob attended grade school and also graduated from High School.
After High School, Bob worked at Bunker Hill mines where he started his electrical apprenticeship at the age of 19. Bob moved to Spokane to finish his apprenticeship where he joined the IBEW 73 and was a member for 60 years. He was involved in many organizations, Irvin Water District #16 for 18 years, a member of the Elks Lodge and social groups where he played cards and socialized with friends. Bob’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Roberta “Bobbie’ Stapleton, sister Myra Ventjer, daughters Faith Stickler (Dave), Cindy Bergeron, Linda Beck, Laurie Cumber, sons Greg Stapleton (Jennifer), Mike Cumber (Diane Olson). Bob’s legacy includes his 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, all of whom Bob loved dearly. He was preceded in death by parents Cleo and Helen (Hauer) Stapleton, brothers Pete and John Stapleton, sister Rosemary Stapleton, and sons Dennis and Eric Stapleton.
There will be a private family interment.
Bob’s family invites his friends and relatives to join them in celebrating his life at a lunch reception to be held August 4, 2018 at the Millwood Presbyterian Church Venue Center, 8863 E. Euclid Ave., Millwood, WA
