As well as, teaching me how to fish, how to dig for the best worms and where to look, teaching me to lay carpet stretch carpet, kick carpet, lay
soft goods,  
I remember uncle Bob best, for his loving way of always having some
change usually quarters in his pocket to give to us kids, without us asking he would give us a quarter, and you know it made me feel like a million dollars, I was empowered, I could go the store and buy water I wanted usually candy. (go figure) but he was always thinking of us kids, my cousins and I.

Bob and Mary were our wonderful neighbors many, many years ago. What a precious family to be absorbed in. I was never alone and look back at those times with very fond memories. God bless you Sullivan family! Much love, Ginny Winters and Wayne and Thelma Winters of Spokane.

In 2006 I had a seizure and we asked Dad to come to our house to "baby-sit" me during my time when I could barely wipe my nose. He graciously agreed to come and help out. My seizure caused three compression fractures in my back and both shoulders to be dislocated...so needless to say I was in a lot of pain and not very mobile.  We all thought Dad moved slow but at this point I was even slower. So Dad would help me to the bathroom and wait at the door until I was finished. One day I was on the 'throne' and the toilet paper roll ran out so Dad came to give me the next roll to put on the roller. As I was trying to replace the roll on the dowel the toilet paper dropped and rolled behind the toilet. I asked Dad to come in and look to see if he could find it and sure enough it was behind the 'throne' against the wall.  Dad had to lay down on the floor on his belly with his head between my legs and reach around the 'throne' to get to the dropped toilet paper roll. I said Dad "if they could only see us now!" Dad just shook his head and grinned. 
Dad was here for a month to help us out and Pam and I appreciated his help so very much!! Pam and I love and miss him so very much!!

Here is a story of me and my dad...one day I was sitting in the house, minding my own business, watching TV, comfortable and warm; and Dad was working outside in the yard/garden. I was probably 11-12 years old. Mom STRONGLY suggested I go out and help Dad. I knew he wasn't in a very good mood and I didn't want to be out there with him, but Mom made sure I went out to help.  While helping Dad he was raking around the yard and HE had put down the rake with the tines pointing up...and yep, he stepped on it and got hit by the handle up-side the head!  I kind of thought he deserved it because he was in such a bad mood, but I couldn't laugh out loud 'cause I knew then I'd be in BIG trouble! He really didn't deserve it (although I snickered under my breath) but he did teach us not to lay the rake down with the tines up. This is just one of my many memories of Dad and his love of working in the yard and garden.

My grandpa was one of a kind! He was one of the kindest, most caring people I've ever known. When I was a little girl, I felt that there was something so special about going to Grandpa's house. It was a place where I always knew, without a doubt, that I was loved. There are so many wonderful memories of my grandpa: riding in his green van down the bumpety road to the store, helping him decorate his Christmas tree with his favorite blue lights, listening to Christmas music with him in July, helping him collect coins to give to all the grandkids, talking books when he got hooked on Louis L'Amour short stories, and sharing cheez-its, popcorn and candy while we made faces at each other across the table. No one could make Thanksgiving stuffing, fried eggs or hotdogs and sauerkraut like Grandpa! He also had the best sense of humor. You could tease Grandpa and know he would throw it right back and then some. He'd often tell me with a twinkle in his eye that I "looked terrible." I'd tell him he "looked hot" so, every time I talked to him on the phone he'd say, "It's still hot over here!" Then he'd start singing Johnny Cash's "Burning Ring of Fire." And he was always there for his grandkids. When I graduated from college, he flew halfway across the country to be at my graduation, even though it was hard for him to walk. My grandpa Pete was a wonderful person and I feel truly blessed to have known him.

Oops!! I just typed for 10 minutes, and my last entry got wiped away.  Ugh!!
Okay, here goes again!!
I loved Uncle Bob.  He was always so kind to me!! It seems like yesterday we were at the lake eating candy he had given us and running around being crazy.  Both him and your mom always treated me so good.  Especially when I went away to college in Cheney.  One Birthday they brought me up balloons and a present!! It was so sweet!! I also loved getting all the Christmas cards from your dad!!! His was my first one always!! Another highlight, is the last time I saw him.  He came up to Detroit to watch Jeremy pitch!! I just loved hanging around him and talking to him.  He would always say to me "Beth, I miss her all the time". Talking of course about your mom!!  Please know I love all you guys, and feel so blessed to have you all for my cousins!! You had such wonderful loving parents that have affected us all for the better!!  Love you!

My grandpa was amazing.  I could write about so many memories.  But I will just name a few.  He used to have this amazing garden that he loved; he would plant flowers for my grandma and veggies and the most amazing raspberry bushes.  But before he put this garden in me had a huge pile of dirt delivered and envited all of us grand kids to come over.  We got to play in this big pile of dirt for the day.  It was the most amazingly dirty day a kid could have.  I don't remember if he hosed us off before we could come in but I am sure he threatened if he didn't.  I will also never forget how he took me every where he went.  He even took me to work with him.  I was entertained for hours by being the scrap picker-upper.  He loved all of us like no other.  I think that is what I will miss the most.  His love of kids and just knowing that he enjoyed every minute of a visit.
