
Russell Duane Coykendall passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on March 18, 1938, in Sandpoint, Idaho, Russell grew up in Spokane, Washington where he attended Madison Grade School and North Central High School. He was raised alongside an older brother and sister, by his mother Louise Weaver. His father, Harry Coykendall, passed away early in his childhood.
Russell was known for being very honest, direct, a man of fewer words, and reliable. He spent 33 years working at Great Western Chemical before retiring to the Priest Lake area. In retirement, he remained very active in his community, participating in the Lion's Club, water district, and sewer district. He also enjoyed socializing with the local happy hour group.
At the age of 19, Russell married Judith Litten in 1956, and together they had four children: Michael, Debra, Wendy, and Kristin. Later in life, he remarried to Zenetta Kay Christofferson, and gained two more children, Michael and Lynnae. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Russell resided in Post Falls, Idaho, and will be remembered fondly by his family and community for his dedication and service.
