

Sharon Elaine Wilson (nee Wagner) was born on April 8, 1947 to Maud and Travis Wagner in Vancouver, BC, the youngest of five children and the only girl, beloved wife and soul mate, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Sharon was promoted to glory on December 22, 2011 in Spokane, WA, USA at Hospice House of Spokane. She is survived by her loving husband Tom Wilson of Spokane, WA, her son Sean Christie in Cebu, Philippines and Cindy Christie in Langley, BC, numerous nephews and nieces, relatives and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her father Travis Wagner, her mother Maud Wagner of Burnaby, BC and her four brothers, Travis, Douglas, Wesley and Earl.
Sharon succumbed to an unexpected complication of cancer that she had been so far battling successfully for a year. In her last four years on this earthly vale she faced a series of ever more serious physical trials with grace and dignity, never losing her good cheer, her smile or her loving personality.
Having not finished high school, Sharon’s proudest accomplishment was to obtain her high school diploma and then successfully completing a program in Employment Alternatives for Women at Kwantlan Polytechnic University in Langley, BC. She had a successful career of 14 years with the Langley Times as an Advertising Sales Consultant and received numerous accolades from her clients. Prior to her retirement she was an active member of the Langley Rotary Club.
Sharon loved her two children and sacrificed much to assure that they were happy and successful. She was a loving soul mate. She was a dear friend to many people and a blessing to all who knew her.
Sharon was a poet, writing poems of love, heartbreak and joy.
Sharon was a true daughter of Canada and was proud of her country. Although she spent the last years of her life in the United States with her husband Tom, she was Canadian through and through with no thought of ever loving another country. She visited home as frequently as possible. She was a Canucks fan, a Team Canada fan and a Blue Jays fan.
Sharon was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army and was an enthusiastic believer in her savior Jesus Christ. She was promoted to glory with the sure and present knowledge that her faith in her Risen Savior assured her a place at the foot of the Throne of God. May all that knew and loved her be comforted with the sure knowledge that she is at home with the Lord and her parents and her brothers, whom she missed so much.
She will be interred alongside her mother and father at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 30, 2011. A memorial service celebrating her life and her promotion to glory will be held at Cariboo Hill Temple – Salvation Army, 7195 Cariboo Road, Burnaby, BC at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 30, 2011. Captain Kyle Smith of the Salvation Army Spokane Corps is officiating. All are welcome to both the interment and memorial service.
