

TIBERT, Walter L. Jr. December 6, 1937 - September 11, 2010 Walt was born in Williston, ND and raised in Havre, MT. When he was 16, the family moved to Kettle Falls, Washington where he graduated from high school. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad and attended Eastern Washington College from 1957 to 1967, graduating with a degree in vocal music. He became an engineer for the railroad until he went back to college, graduating in 1983 from Central Washington University with an accounting degree. The job of cost-accounting for Boeing was his dream job. Among his many interests were music, photography, reading, wood carving, geology, genealogy and astronomy. He was a life-member of the Masonic Lodge of Edmonds. In 1968 he married Ellen (Edwards) in Seattle, WA. They lived in Edmonds and Lynnwood until retiring in 2000. They returned to Spokane where he loved the weekly men's Bible study at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church and his AM coffee group at McDonald's on Indian Trail. His parents, Walter L. Sr. and Ruth Lois, and his sister, Theresa Gilbert preceded Walt in death. His wife of 42 years, Ellen, and four sisters survive him: Mary Penson (Garland, TX); Roseann Carr (Daisy, WA); Jane Courbot (Seattle, WA); and Jean Sadowski (Lacey, WA). Walt's in-laws are John and Kathie Foerster (Spokane) and Beth Edwards (Spokane). Numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces, nephews and good friends also survive him. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 17, 2010 at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church, 312 W. Hawthorne Rd., Spokane, WA. Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N.
