

William Coleman, age 91, who resided in Spokane Valley, Washington for 60 years, passed away quietly, October 18th, 2021. He was born January 1, 1930 in Adrian, Missouri to his parents, Robert and Cora Coleman. He was youngest of five children. May 7, 1950 he was married to Leah Marie Hembree in Yakima, Washington. He was an optician with American Optical for fifty years and then worked at Group Health Optical until he retired. Dance roller-skating was an important part of his life. It was through roller-skating that he met his future wife, Leah. They performed in competitions, shows and were involved in club activities together. Later in life this led to a small role in the movie “ Heaven’s Gate”. He also grew a garden and enjoyed working in the yard. He has been a member of Opportunity Christian Church for 60 years.
William is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, Karen and John Heileson of Spokane Valley, Washington and Julie and Todd Witham of Spokane Valley, Washington, his ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one (soon to be two) great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Opportunity Christian Church, 708 N Pines Road, Spokane Valley, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 10:30 am.
