The Washington State Veterans Cemetery extends our deepest sympathies to the family of William M. Perkins for your loss.  We honor him for the service and sacrifice he has made for our nation, he is a true hero.

By googling Colonel Perkins' name today I found out he passed last month.  Col Perkins was my Commanding Officer while I was assigned to Fairchild AFB (1959-1962). It was his encouragement/influence that convinced me to make the Air Force a career.  On our many visits to the Spokane area, we always visited him and Mrs Perkins prior to her death.  More than my Commanding Officer -- he and Mrs Perkins treated me as if I was one of their sons.  The trips to the Spokane area will no longer be the same.   

May he rest in peace -- now with Mrs. Perkins.
