

Butch was born October 16, 1947 to Harvey and Bernice Phinn. He graduated from Spooner High School in 1965. On July 31, 2003 was united in marriage to Cynthia Sheehan.
He worked as an operator of a cranberry marsh, drilled wells and did logging during his earlier years. He later bartended at Lipsie Pines for many years and ended up at ICO Convenience Store in Trego for 12 years. He retired the end of 2012.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved trapping, duck hunting, deer hunting (gun and bow), fishing (both ice fishing and summer fishing), bowling, horseshoes, and shooting pool. He was a loyal Packer fan.
Butch also played guitar and sang. He was even part of a band in his early years.
Butch is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Phinn of nine years; his mother, Bernice; two sisters, Sherry (Art) Thompson and Donna (Bill) Durand; four children, Brad (Tammy) Phinn, Brett (Marilyn) Phinn, Brenda (Tyrone) Hoffbeck, and Bridget Phinn; his eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-children, Christy (Greg) Haupt, Brian (Shari) Sheehan, Brandi (Jim) Haupt, Adam (Katie) Sheehan and seven step-grandchildren. He is also survived by two special friends, Ray Allard and Brad Baker.
Preceeding him in death were his father, Harvey Phinn; his sister, Marlys Praiger; his brother-in-law, Fred Praiger; and one grandson.
A celebration of life was held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner.
