

Andrew August Peterson was born on May 27, 1924 in Shell Lake, WI to Andrew and Emelia (Weberg) Peterson. He attended Shell Lake High School through the 11th grade when he enlisted in the U. S. Army until his discharge on October 4, 1944. He married Luella Vogt in St. John’s Evangelical Church in Shell Lake, WI on September 15, 1946 and was an area carpenter for many years until his retirement which was a long time coming. He always seemed to find another job that needed doing for someone.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was active with the Aid Association of Lutherans. He had been a 4-H Leader and member of the Washburn County Fair Board, was also on the Beaver Book Town Board of Supervisors and a member of the American Veterans Association for many years. He enjoyed listening to music, his favorite being the Rex Cactus Band.
He is survived by his wife, Luella; daughters, Doris (Gene) Rydberg of Barronett, WI, Darlene (Dan) Carlson of Crown Point, IN, Mary (Rich) Scheffel of Centennial, CO, Linda (Jeff) Sundquist of Omro, WI, and Jean (Stan) Kendrick of Boulder, CA; sons, Dale (Chris) Peterson of Appleton, WI, Richard Peterson of Appleton, WI, and Glen Peterson of Eau Claire, WI; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brothers, Ken Peterson of Rice Lake, WI, Larry (Rita) Peterson of Trego, WI; sisters, Norah Homes of Rice Lake, WI, Minnie Cantley of Shell Lake, WI and Delores (Rolland) Norman of Milaca, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Mae Peterson, his mother, Emily and father Andrew Peterson; 2 brothers, George and Robert Peterson; and 2 sisters, Anna Norton and Doris Peterson.
Funeral Services for Bud will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Spooner with Pastor Brent Berkesch officiating. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Dahl Funeral Home and from 10 – 11 am prior to the service at the Church. Military Honors will follow the service at the Church with burial at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
