Bernice Marie Jensen

Bernice was born on April 2, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois to Jens Christian and Anne Marie Jensen.

Bernice went to college and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching and went on to get a Master’s Degree in business. She was a substitute teacher, worked at a farm newspaper and then spent 43 years working for Tablet & Ticket Co in Chicago where she became president for 5 ½ years before retiring and then additional 5 years as a consultant.

After retirement she kept busy running a gift shop at Bethesda Nursing Home in Chicago as well as serving on the board of directors. She was also on the board of directors at Leyden Mental Health Center in Franklin Park, IL and active with Grace Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her sister Alice Sundin, nieces Christine (Darryl) Ecker of Eau Claire and Joanne Frandsen of Bel Air, MD, and great nieces and nephews, Wesley (Jennifer) Ecker of Hartland, WI, Robert (Heather) Ecker of Eau Claire,WI, Christy (Tim) Parsons, and Kari Frandsen, Annapolis MD, great great nephews and nieces, Joshua and Benjamin Parsons, Lia, Torin and Rylan Ecker, and Ava Ecker.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m, Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner, WI with Pastor Jack Starr officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Hertel, WI.
