

Frank was born on July 31, 1911, in Bruno Saskatchewan to Joseph and Theresa Jellen. The family settled in Washburn County to farm in the early 1900’s. Frankie attended a 1 room school house at Tozer Lake with his siblings. He stayed on the family farm near Spooner and was still driving his John Deere well into his 90’s. Frank never married. He had a chance to travel to warmer climates later in life and would spend time out west, but come back to Spooner for the summer and fall until the last few years, when he chose to reside in California to be near his sister, Elnora and her family.
Frank is survived by; his sister, Elnora Eichstaedt and many nieces and nephews, who will greatly miss his quiet humor and good nature. He was preceded in death by; his parents, Joseph and Theresa, three sisters, Veronica, Ann, and Evelyn, and five brothers, Joseph III, Leo, Roman, Andrew, and Edward.
A mass of Christian burial for Frank will be held at St. Francis de Sale Catholic Church in Spooner on Monday, May 19th at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Ed Anderson officiating. Burial will be following the service at Calvary Cemetery in Spooner. Memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice. Arrangements were entrusted to Dahl Funeral Home.
